Here I am, stealing the chance to go online in this conveniently placed Starbucks right across my hotel in a busy afternoon. Not exactly the exciting trip as I expected, but nevertheless something to break away from the hectic days in Malacca. (Did I say hectic?)
Anyways, JB's quite cool, compared to little ole Malacca. Neat roads, tall buildings (god do I wish for these in Malacca, don't ask me why!) nice little malls for me to walk around on. If there was anything marring this little city, it's the number of beggars on the road and I mean ABLE-BODIED BEGGARS AS YOUNG AS TEENS sitting on the sidewalk and whatnot, the pedestrian bridge. Not my typical cup of tea, to give charitably to these people, all for a simple cause, they are just plain lazy bastards. I mean, you've got freaking working limbs and healthy and all! Go get your worth, stinking bastards. (Sorry, but I'm quite worked up)
It's quite saddening to see this one young Malay boy sitting on the pedestrian bridge and boy does he dress well as a beggar; jeans, red shirt emblazoned with the word "Quicksilver" and a punk-ish hairdo. It really makes one wonder if this boy REALLY is a beggar or just one plain lazy ass. Then there was the Chinese bespectacled ah pek and another Malay pak cik and the Indian Ah ne.. all able-bodied but share the same job that reaps sympathetic charity from the ever-charitable Malaysian society, if not with a tinge of generous Singaporeans swarming in from across the border. (I happen to be just beside the transit between M'sia and S'pore)
Now, enough of the ugly. Now, moving on to the wonderful.
CHRISTMAS IS NIGH!! Ahem... Yes, the Christmas spirit is in the air already. I wish a wish for a White Christmas. Can't help but help myself indulge into Starbucks' latest offering for this joyous season, PEPPERMINT MOCHA! <3 (Yes, I know it sounds oxymoronic but bear with me)
This year's Christmas list? Go caroling as I've always intended to do ever since three years ago but failed miserably every time. This time I'm quite the determined one to do it. Theme, black and white, preferably more of a white over black, to play along with the White Christmas. So, this 25th December, I'll be caroling in Dataran Pahlawan. Thus far, a few people seems interested to join my source of fun and madness, anymore takers?
*sips the said Starbucks peppermint mocha*
Ahhhh~
